The owners of this small business sought a distinctive space that stood out from the surrounding sea of strip malls. This 2000 sf commercial space allows customers to experience a refined shopping experience and receive professional medical services located in a rapidly growing part of the Des Moines metropolitan area.

The space is organized with the public retail display nearest the street frontage, then the semi-public exam rooms in the middle and then office and employee spaces in the back. Leading from the front retail space are two corridors, each with matching exam suites, one for each of the two doctors, with the spaces they both share in between.

Custom steel and felt display shelves and furniture in the retail area contribute to the boutique shopping experience and help to coalesce the space around similar materials and high visual contrast allowing for greater focus to occur.
